These cottages nestle beneath mountains called Buachaille Etive or ‘great herdsman’, in Glencoe in Scotland. I found this image very appealing – the dark slate roofs of the cottages echo the brooding mountains etched against a cool autumn sky, in contrast to the fields glowing gold in the afternoon sunshine with shadowed bronze and copper fields beyond. Not a person or animal in sight. Just wind blown solitude.
