The Oundle Art Group are holding an exhibition at the Yarrow Gallery, Oundle School, Northamptonshire, England, from:  Thursday 26th  March to Tuesday 31st March  2026, between  10 am to 4 pm.  Entry is free – all are welcome! The Private viewing will be on Thursday 26th evening from 5.30pm – 7.30pm.

The paintings will display a wide range of topics – in different styles and media – covering something of interest to all the family!

The Oundle Art Group is a wonderful opportunity for artists to meet, paint together, exchange ideas and learn new techniques from invited tutors.  We encompass all levels of ability from beginners to working artists and teachers, so there is always another member of the group on hand who can offer advice and encouragement.  We are a friendly but focussed gathering …with conversations and banter as we work – and a short break with tea and biscuits!

We meet in Cotterstock Village Hall, near Oundle, on a Thursday afternoon during the winter months, 1.45 – 3.45pm. Our sessions alternate between having a visiting tutor for a workshop and a more informal afternoon where there is a suggested subject, for example still life, agreed periodically in advance. Artists can provide suggestions or also work on their own subject if preferred.

The Tutors are all working artists from the area with a wealth of different styles and approaches to painting so there is always something interesting to learn.  Subjects covered include landscapes, portraits, floral works, still life and abstracts, working in oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolours and mixed media, animals, scenic or life drawing, and trying ways of painting – sometimes collages, or loosening one’s style, or precise botanical painting, to create challenges.

At the Oundle Art Group, creativity and wellbeing feature highly, yet, as a not-for-profit group, we keep costs as low as is possible. Artists bring their own materials – but we have spares and share, if someone is trying out a new media.

In summer months we have outdoor painting sessions at various locations round the area, including villages, formal gardens, rustic barns and woodlands and, of course, views along the river Nene.  We have so many beautiful locations around Oundle and Northamptonshire, there is never a lack of  inspiring places to paint. The afternoon often ends with a sociable cup of tea in a tea room or a picnic!

We usually have an annual exhibition to display work completed throughout the year and we are always impressed by the standard of work.
