Creativity is not an additional, extra, it is essential for being well and staying well”   states the UK National Council for Creativity and Health, UK).  Hence, our Partner, Talking Health’s support for theCafé Social Enterprise and theCafé Project.

Indeed, the links between creativity and wellbeing are multiple and manifest, and exploring them is of great interest to many of us which is, after all, what theCafé is all about.  Our health – physical, mental and spiritual – impacts across, and is affected by, creativity and well-being. Different aspects of our physical body, for example our eyes, hands, feet, joints are often crucial parts of creative processes which,  contribute significantly to our well-being as individuals and thus to the wellbeing of our families and communities.

Hence, in theCafé project,  the role of our sister company, Talking Health (both in its social enterprise and its community interest forms), is to provide evidence based research in the sphere of health and wellbeing, and has earned the respect of academia, healthcare professionals and within the wider public community. It role is to encourage working with people  in the community who are like-minded, with a shared interest in health maintenance and recovery – as it interacts with creativity and wellbeing.

The ‘Talking Health’ section is sub-edited by Dr Shena Parthab Taylor whose MA and PhD were major influences upon our setting up this work, and who is herself also an accomplished member of the Bristling Talent mob.
