Introducing theCafé, we are conscious that, in part, it reflects the studies and personal experiences of several members of our team.

The origins of the ideas behind theCafe reflect periods of study, undertaken late in life(s) when some on our team were seeking new directions during times of trouble or crises in their lives. Choosing to harness and liberate their inner creativity to help reshape their directions and to experience the joy that creativity nurtures tells us much about why theCafe now exists.

After all, “experience is the teacher of all things” (attributed to Julius Caesar in De Bello Civili) – or more generally “experience is the best teacher”. To which the American author, speaker, and pastor John C. Maxwell, added: “The only way of learning from personal experiences is to reflect on them, something he feels Caesar had done a lot of, which by the way. was the only way he was able to become successful and write down his thoughts”  

Hence, we shall invite you to join us as we explore, demonstrate, and eulogise something that is, perhaps, at the core of most human beings – i.e. to use and promote the links between creativity and well-being from, both, a selfish perspective and because we care about those around us.

Research tells us that encouraging, helping and promoting these ideas can work across the community, and for and between individuals whilst helping also to nurture positive health – mental, physical and spiritual well-being – in their widest forms.
